Welcome to Vietnam
Vietnam is a country located in Southeast Asia, sharing borders with China, Laos, and Cambodia. It is officially referred to as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The history of this country is intricate, extensive, and full of cultural infusion, transformation, and a symbol of resilience. Even though there is little known about the origin of Vietnamese people, according to their legends and stories Vietnamese people are the descendants of the dragon lord Lạc Long Quân and the fairy Âu Cơ, who had 100 sons and they are the children of the eldest son, the king of Hùng dynasty. However, the Red River Delta is one of the earliest places where Vietnamese people lived. Throughout history, they have always tried to preserve their culture and values, and this was applied when this country was ruled by the Chinese forces for over a thousand years. After their persistent resistance against the Chinese and after the battle of Bạch Đằng River, Vietnam achieved its independence from China in 938 CE. Moreover, one of the golden ages in Vietnamese history is the Le Dynasty, during this era, this region saw magnificent advances in literature, art, and education. Nonetheless, it was in 1945 that Vietnam gained its independence and was declared as the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
Hanoi was established as the capital city of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam) in 1945 and later on, after the reunification of both parts (North Vietnam and South Vietnam) and the final declaration of independence of Vietnam in 1976, known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Hanoi is now officially the capital city of the reunified Vietnam. This city is particularly renowned for its street food, such as Bun Cha (grilled pork with noodles), Pho (noodle soup), and Egg Coffee. Not only that, this city is home to many unforgettable places, including the iconic Hoan Kiem Lake, The Temple of Literature, which was established in 1070 and was the first national university in Vietnam. And if you want to go back to the beauty of nature, then you should visit the West Lake, where you are surrounded by temples, gardens, and boats. You can also visit the Water Puppet Theatre, where you can enjoy Vietnamese puppet shows and cherish arts from the 11th century!
