Thailand is a country situated in the heart of southeast of Asia. This country is officially known as the Kingdom of Thailand and it is neighbors with Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar. The first Thai state dates back to 1238, when the Sukhothai Kingdom was founded. This era is renowned for the development of Thai writing system and the spread of Buddhism. After that, the Ayutthaya Kingdom was established in 1351 and this kingdom was remarkable for its weath, huge network, cultural gains, and power in the entirety of southeat Asia. As great as this era was, however, this kingdom met its end after centuries in 1767. In contrary to any of its neighbors, Thailand (then called Siam) successfully avoided all colonizations by the Europian forces and this effort goes back to the two powerful rulers of Thailand, King Mongkut (Rama IV) and King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). Even though Thailand has never been colonized, it has gone through many magnificent historical and political changes, especially after the establishment of the Rattanakosin Kingdom, which marks a vital point in the Thai history.

The capital of Thailand is Bangkok, which was founded in 1782 by King Rama I, founder of the Chakri Dynasty. The Thai name for bangkok in Thailand is Thep Maha Nakhon, which means “City of Angels, Great City of Immortals“. Furthermore, more than 95% of Thais are followers of Buddhism, alongside that, they also practice Animism, believing that spirits inhabit objects and places.
